Col. Jason Suby

Minnesota Wing Commander

April 2024 to current.

 

Col. Jason Suby joined Civil Air Patrol as a cadet at Viking Composite Squadron in Eden Prairie in September 2001. As a cadet, he served as flight sergeant, flight commander, and wing Cadet Advisory Council representative and was particularly active in emergency services. 

Upon earning the William “Billy” Mitchell Award, he transferred to the senior member program as a flight officer. He worked his way through many staff and command assignments, including Viking Composite Squadron commander, Group 1 commander, Grand Rapids Composite Squadron commander, Northland Composite Squadron interim commander, and Minnesota Wing vice commander. 

Outside of CAP, he is a small-business owner and veteran of the Minnesota Army National Guard with several activations and mobilizations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn. He likes spending time with family and friends’ pets, and flying his Cessna 172.
